Sooo, "history" is only three fucking years old?? No wonder our kids ain't lernin' stuff these daze.

Judge rules Ten Commandments monument must go

Senior U.S. District Judge James A. Parker said in his ruling in a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union that the monument amounts to government speech and has the "principal effect of endorsing religion."

Because of the context and history surrounding the granite monument, Parker said Bloomfield clearly violated the First Amendment's Establishment Clause. He gave a Sept. 10 deadline for its removal.

"Bloomfield Mayor Scott Eckstein said he was surprised the judge would rule against "a historical document."

"The 6-foot-tall monument was erected in July 2011 by a former city councilor."

True, the monument was erected 3 yrs. ago, but the Mayor (regardless of him having his head up his ass) is correct - it is historical even if it is a flawed document.

fulfill that criteria. The person in question did not claim it was an historical monument, but rather an historical document.

That said, tear the fuckin thing out.

Nothing would look as good next to the 10 Commandments as a statue of Charles Darwin shaking hands with Roddy McDowell dressed as Caesar from the Planet of the Apes movies.

And more specifically, how granite Ten Commandments monuments, black velvet paintings of Christ, 300-foot crosses next to the Interstate, hundred-foot statues of Jesus, creches, religious tattoos and all the other things Christians adore won't get them shot straight into hell when they die.
