I support the airlift of food supplies, but not the bombing.
It isn't to guarantee that the bombing will remain limited and targeted. It isn't possible to guarantee that the bombing will not lead to "boots on the ground".
And if there ARE "boots on the ground", it isn't likely we will EVER cease to be at war in the Middle East.
Let us feed the Wazidi and relocate them to safety...those are the choices of decency...but NO MORE WAR.
Life, not death.

(50,254 posts)And it will never be limited to that.
Minor military interventions don't stay minor.
And those who want us to fight ISIS want us to give up on doing anything else...because a war against ISIS means U.S. boots on the ground in Iraq for the next two decades or more....essentially forever.
We won't be able to do anything progressive or positive in this country while that's happening.

(37,549 posts)You think they are just out having target practice while food is being delivered to people who are their enemies? How do you think the water and the MREs are getting delivered? Our people deliver them. Our people coordinate and make it happen. Our people are helping the Kurds, by request. And they should be protected.
Do you not understand taking out the artillery in order to make sure that Kurdish positions around Erbil are held?
Do you not understand what will happen if those positions fall?
