Meanwhile, a meaningful COLA would actually ease the burdens of those who rely on Social Security.

Meanwhile I just passed a year of unemployment and my benefits dried up 6 months ago.
My 6 month cushion looks rather moth-eaten (British understatement) and I'm still 2 years away from being able to use retirement funds without penalty.

I wonder how many of those do-nothing thugs will return their windfall to the community?

These TeaPublicans hate the idea of collective bargaining and "socialism" when it comes to everyone else - so why not give them a dose of their own medicine? If merit pay is such a good idea for the rest of America I say it's good enough for them too. It's time "we the people" have a say over how much these idiots get paid. Instead of the current socialized pay system - let the citizens in each state decide how much their representatives are worth. If congress critters are listening to the folks back home and proposing and passing legislation that makes our lives better - then they probably deserve a raise. If not - they deserve a pay cut.

Tell them they can have more money when the middle class is growing and our troops are out of harms way around the world.

Before, after and during office. We're ready for some real change. The millionaire club hasn't been doing much good with the job.
