Ban Ki-moon colluded with US, Israel to undermine UN Gaza report: WikiLeaks
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon asked the UN Security Council “not to take into account” its Board of Inquiry report about the 2008-09 Gaza attacks.
Media reports, citing official documents released Friday by WikiLeaks, said that Ban colluded with Israel and the United States to “undermine UN report into Gaza war crimes."
The report alleged Ban wrote a letter to Security Council members asking them “not to take recommendations by the UN Board of Inquiry about Israeli bombings in Gaza into account."
The report concluded that Israeli Defense Forces were responsible for seven of the nine attacks on the UN buildings in the Gaza strip. It also accused Israel of having “breached the inviolability and immunity of UN premises.”
The inquiry report called for an impartial and in-depth investigation into the recent “incidents,” and into the bombings of UN facilities.
