Scary stuff - police locking and loading as media walk past with hands raised. Tear gas still coming down

And cops have utilized those forever. I even saw one on an episode of Matlock back in the day.

But the fatigues, grenades, rubber bullets and terror tactics need to go. Pronto.

It's an MRAP.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MRAP

It's armored to protect the occupants from IED's, .50 Cal Machine Guns, RPG's, and landmines. Because you know that Ferguson, and Fallujah sound so much alike.

And I haven't seen any pictures of crew served weaponry in St. Louis yet.

In any case, MRAPS and M2's have zero utility in our police forces. The fact that they own them tells me 2 things:

1. Police forces have too big a budget if they're buying military crap they don't need and shouldn't be using.

2. Police forces have lost touch with civilian America.
