I was snarky with a repuke today.

Today I was in line to pick up a Rx for my husband today. The woman behind me and I struck up a discussion about the high cost of medicine in this country. I told her that my husband's Rx was $600 for 10 syringes and his co-pay is $200. I said I don't know how people with no insurance can afford it. Her answer to me was, "That's why we have to get Obama out of office. What is he thinking making people who can't afford a roof over their heads buy insurance." There were so many things I wanted to tell her but instead this is how I replied. "I don't know. Maybe he should ask Romney how he did it in Mass."
She stopped talking to me.

In some areas their critical thinking skills may have been blunted. And they, as people do, engage in a lot of circular thinking and ingroup validation. They instinctively believe something, and then find reasons to support that belief. We all do that, by the way. And we tend to marginalize or belittle those we really don't like. It doesn't take stupid to do that. It just means we are human.

their bootstraps like they did, and that welfare "queens" were bleeding our country dry. (Of course, never mind that they started their business with the money their parents handed them for free).

Anyway, they had this home decorating business which was doing well decorating homes in Palm Beach, FL (a rather wealthy area). They drooled over the mega-rich and their homes and incessantly spoke about what wonderful people these were.

So one fine day, their college-age daughter became a drug addict (she was emotionally f'd up - I don't doubt by them). Over a number of years she was arrested, bailed out, ended up homeless and living with drug addicts, and they paid for her to attend countless, very expensive, chichi drug programs. These were church-goers who went to an evangelical mega-church in Ft. Lauderdale, and they were embarrassed by their daughter's doings.

The money they had stashed away began to dwindle on drug programs for their daughter, trying to get her clean so they could be upstanding citizens once again.

Then the husband developed a chronic illness. The wife had to handle the business by herself, keep an eye on her husband's situation, take care of the daughter's problems, and they had a second, younger daughter who was still in elementary school to keep an eye out for.

Soon, the wife developed an anxiety problem, the funds they had stashed had disappeared, they lost their business, they lost their palatial home, and the church members were providing an occasional casserole to them so they could eat.

They're now living in a trailer in Rhode Island or Mass (I can't recall which), and taking EVERY BIT OF GOVT. HELP THEY CAN.

I told my sis I should write them a little letter and ask them to please stop bleeding my govt. dry by taking funds, and to get out there and pull themselves up by their bootstraps, but she said that would be unduly mean. Actually, I feel mean toward these people. They're selfish a-holes, until their time comes and they experience in their own skin what a bad time is.

or wrong vs. right, or kindness vs. cruelty, and that they are like a frat club which they feel has the right to do any darn thing they want.

I imagine them feeling that THEY are entitled to receive help, where others who are needy and poor, are not.

I tend to view most as just brainwashed or "hard wired" authoritarians who don't

realize that they are NOT the "one percent" and never will be...Then again,

I tend to be optimistic about people.

It always bothers them to hear the truth spoken so plainly. I don't do it to bother them, I do it to tell them the truth but it always disturbs them.

The other day a puke said they liked Condi Rice so I told him that I didn't like torturers and asked him how the Bush admin ever thought they would get away with war crimes after the U.S. had executed people after WWII for the exact same crimes. The usual "ahh I don't know" was the answer.

My husband has something called Factor Five, he develops blood clots and has to take Coumiden to thin his blood. Because of impending surgery, he was put on another blood thinner that stays in in his body for only 24 hours. This is the Rx in the syringe that is so expensive. We are fortunate that we could afford the $200 for this life saving med. My concern is for the people who can't. How can you even say PRESIDENT Obama doesn't care about the costs of meds and medical expenses? Have you never heard of the Affordable Care Act? (aka "Obamacare.&quot Did you even check your insurance premiums from 2004-2008 where they skyrocketed and/or quarupled? Who didn't address this during those years? Hmmmm?

2000 to 2008? Do you want to know where this venom came from? Who yelled "Liar" during the SOTU? PRESIDENT Obama tried for the first two years of his administration to compromise with the republican party. What did it get him? The Senate filibustered every bill that came to the floor, even when it was a bill that was first brought by the republicans. Hell, McConnell let it be known that their mission was to make sure Obama was a one term president. I agree, this venom has to stop, but don't put all the blame on the Democrats.
