I know it's been six years since he was elected President, but today he looked like he's had the job for decades. I hope he can maintain his health in the remainder of his term.

(149,615 posts)I know it's been turning gray for awhile now, but today's coverage really shocked me.

(36,429 posts)That long hair simply accentuates the white hairs that have been creeping in since he became president. And despite the white hair, I thought he looked remarkably robust considering all the crap he's had to endure. Well, that was my observation.

(5,756 posts)They all get a lot greyer under the stress of the job. Regan was an exception. Of course we all know Regan regularly dyed his hair.

I say that because many of my relatives began turning gray in their twenties. Their faces, however remained youthful. If they were female, they usually dyed their hair. I applaud the President for not dying his hair. It would take twenty years of his appearance, but he has other things to worry about.

(19,564 posts)He looked tired and travel-worn. It's a tough job under the best of circumstances, and he's not had even marginally fair circumstances to deal with.
A pic of him today.

(6,335 posts)I've been watching Fox coverage tonight and they only frame EVERYTHING in context of Obama and how he's handling it. Sickening. Looks like Obama's shirt collar is very loose.

(50,130 posts)I'm sure he normally gets groomed before a TV appearance.

(135,425 posts)He looked like he got some sun, but otherwise he looked fine to me -- but I'm not real picky.
I always thought he was doing the "grecian formula" just a little bit while he was running, to make the "youthful, vigorous" contrast vis-a-vis McCain. Good for him--take every advantage. I cannot swear to this but I noticed that the grey eased in pretty quick after the inaugural and I don't think it was just stress. He's at the point in time in his life where, for some people, that haircolor change kicks in big time--I think he's inherited his grampa's genes and pattern of silvering in that regard. The apple doesn't fall too far, after all!

(39,313 posts)yet you'll still see the hypocrites here and elsewhere saying it's all his fault, everything, and well he wanted the job.
For the record I hate those people. Look what's coming down the pike and appreciate that we've had this man to guide our country through rough times.

And, as far as the President "looking old today".. I think once the world settles down a bit and he has some time to sleep, eat right, and get some good old fashion exercise in.. he'll have some healthier looking days.

(29,660 posts)feel sad for him, I don't think he really realized what *ssholes he was going to be up against. He needs this vacation...... I love my President and am so thankful he IS who he is.

(16,380 posts)Not like someone in the middle of some fabulous vacation. Some vacation BTW.
If I were President I'd be just like Stephanie Miller. I'd drink. And quit.

(1,701 posts)Really, it has to be one of the worst jobs in the world, and he came into office at a time when everywhere you looked there was a disaster. I have been disappointed in him for a number of things--especially his economic policies and the NSA program--but there is no denying that he has been stuck with the worst Congress that we have had in recent decades. The fact that he has gotten anything positive at all accomplished at times seems to me little short of miraculous.

(34,051 posts)i don't understand why him & clinton think it's a smart idea to show how old and haggered they are becoming while in office.
yes, we know the job takes a physical toll. that doesn't mean you have to wear it on your sleeve
and obviously this is just my opinion
