Twitterers allege Ferguson Robbery Footage is Months Old

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/ferguson-michael-brown-robbery-conspiracy-theory

"A conspiracy theory about the security camera footage of Michael Brown shoplifting from a convenience store minutes before he was shot by a Ferguson police officer on Saturday is making the rounds on Twitter. It alleges the footage is more than two months old.

The theory, which seems largely contained to random users on Twitter, comes amid serious questions about the official record in the case.

Ferguson police released a report Friday that stated Brown was the "primary suspect" in the robbery of some cigars from a convenience store that occurred minutes before he was shot. It included a number of stills taken from the store's security camera.

The Twitter theory alleges that the timestamp on the footage is from June 9, 2014 -- not August 9, 2014, when the robbery allegedly occurred. In TPM's own review of online postings of the images, it appears to be an 8 rather than a 6 as the theory alleges."

. . . the issue is now shooting and killing for jaywalking - possibly even more violence attributable to the officer (choking) if Mr. Brown's friend's account holds up.

Robbery implies the intimidation of the store workers and the cleaning out of the cash register, not the theft of a pack of cheap cigars. As it is, he shoves the storekeeper out of the way as he leaves the store. He doesn't clean out the register or boost any beer.

The time stamp on the video does appear to be 8-09-2104 all the way through. I think some people are being confused the the "camera 6" in front of it.

Brown was no angel. However, none of his crimes that day merited the death penalty anywhere in this country that is barbaric enough to have it.

and what little pictures that are out there from when he was left in streets and I am not sure that the clothes are the same. The shorts on the boy in the store video don't seem to be the same of what the boy is wearing when he is in the street. It may be possible that they were from different dates. I would want a lot more thorough, expert analysis of the store video. If you look at the attached video it really looks like his clothing does not match what the boy is wearing in the store.
