Seems To Me That A Lot Of The Violence We're Seeing In Ferguson Could Have Been Avoided If....

right from the start that the powers that be take some sort of action with respect to the cop that shot Michael Brown.

If they would have announced his name and suspended him from the force and perhaps put him in some protective custody pending a full investigation of the shooting and the circumstances surrounding the shooting - perhaps that would have quelled the violence.

Seems to me all the people of Ferguson want is some information regarding the shooting and some action that somehow balances the shooting with the shooter - that they might have been able to avoid this on-going violence.

Instead - it appeared that the Police where protecting the shooter and were purposely withholding information in order to come up with a story that would absolve the shooter - Wilson. They further aggravated the situation by releasing the video on the alleged robbery by Michael Brown.

We're more than a week since the shooting and today we first learned the results of the autopsy.

It's just the trickle of information that is coming out seems like too little too late. If initially information flowed - I believe that much of this violence we've seen could have been avoided.

The show of force by the police and their militarization didn't help matters either. Now I'm just hearing that the Governor has signed an order to bring in the National Guard to Ferguson. That isn't going to help matters in my humble opinion and the tension in Ferguson will continue and perhaps start to spill over to other communities.

The Ferguson Police Chief that was making all the initial statements and was the one that released the video appeared to be protecting his force, the shooter and shifting the blame on Michael Brown. His contradictory statements further added fuel to the fire.

The Governor didn't perform well in all this since the beginning either. He sounds like a blattering idiot whenever he speaks. His blattering makes him look to be complicit and an accomplice in some sort of cover up.

Captain Johnson was the only shining light in this whole mess and I'm afraid that given what is now going on that we will start seeing some criticism of him from the people as well. I can envision the people saying that he is being manipulated into towing the company line - so to speak. I hope that this won't happen - but in the evolution of this mess - it just seems like it will be the next place they'll go.

If any lesson is learned for any future similar situation like this shooting - it's that there should be flow of information right from the beginning. The lack of flow of information in this shooting - I believe has contributed to the on-going violence.

How many times over the last few days have you heard people from the community say - all they want is some justice. Well you can't have justice without a even handed flow of information - and it seems like up to this point - it's been pretty one-sided and biased.

not deviating from it).

Although, weirdly enough, 'towing the company line' isn't that far off the mark
