Whether Brown would have escaped major brain trauma and the resulting life-style changes is another question.

We have no way of knowing if Brown would have received the medical care necessary for him to survive an injury like that.

True, he was already dead from the head wound per Baden so performing CPR would have been of no use.

Multiple other cops had arrived and a crowd had gathered so a considerable amount of time had passed in terms of attempting to save a person's life.

Log for Wilson on prior call for sick child was between 11:45 and 12:00.
Robbery at around 11:52am
Altercation between Wilson and Brown starts at around 12:01-12:02
EMS were called at 12:04 (that may have been after the first shot fired as Wilson didn't get out of his cruiser right away - may have radioed it in then)

EMS who helped child arrive on scene at ? (some minutes later)

I'm not sure how much one can blame the police for EMS response time. Crowd forming may have contributed to their delay.

It's one of the reasons Iraq's deaths are as "low" as they are compared to Vietnam -- wounds that would have killed people 20 years ago are survivable now.

Pistol bullets, surprisingly, have a tendency to bounce off the skull rather than penetrate it. It can bounce around your face and do a lot of damage but not kill you.

Based on that, then Brown was still alive after being hit 5 times and falling to the ground....then Wilson EXECUTED him with that shot to the head.

I heard a report that a nurse living on the street approached the police and wanted to see if Brown was still alive - she was prepared to perform CPR.

My Dad's comment - which may be incorrect - is that given all the blood on the ground, his heart was still pumping.

This is what happens in a slaughterhouse after an animal is stunned by a humane killer. The bolt to the head causes instant brain death but the heart pumps long enough to cause massive loss of blood.

I wonder if the police on the scene were qualified to make a determination of brain death.

I think a case can be made that the first officers on the scene were guilty of reckless indifference to human life.

The crowd that gathered and contributed audio to the crime scene videos were commenting that he was dead - before EMS appeared.

Those head shots were pretty catastrophic

Apparently while Brown was running away, the cop shot at his retreating back and missed. Witnesses saw Brown jerk, then he stopped running and turned with his hands raised. The cop continued to shoot until Brown was down.

As one commentator on TV said, a bullet may have come close to Brown and that caused the reaction that witnesses thought was him being hit.

Six into Michael Brown and a report that one round was retrieved from a nearby home.

I think the woman that pulled in behind the cop said he fired two round, Brown ran, the cop fired two more, Brown turned with his hands raised, the cop fired a number more times. Not sure I've got the witness right - I've been listening to reports for a week.

Including how many rounds remain unfired. Whether the clip is partially full vs. empty can be significant.

He has footage from the Police chiefs press conference where he says it was "more than 2 shots" but not a whole lot more than 2 shots.

Just sickening.
