US President Barack Obama is sending three White House officials to the funeral service of the 18-year-old whose death in a police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, sparked days of racial unrest.

Leading the group for Monday's service for Michael Brown will be the chairman of the My Brother's Keeper Task Force, Broderick Johnson.

My Brother's Keeper is an Obama initiative that aims to empower young minorities. Johnson is also the secretary for the Cabinet. Also attending will be the deputy director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, Marlon Marshall, and an adviser for the office, Heather Foster.

4. Now if he could do something about the BS charges

"strong arm" robbery is not something any of us have ever heard of. It's a made-up term to make the public think he had a gun.

5. I've heard it before. Doesn't matter about the robbery. That kid had no gun and was 35 feet

away and falling to the ground when the two last shots rang out. It is just plain wrong and people know that.

8. Why is nobody talking about the murder of Kajieme Powell ?

We don't really know exactly how the Brown shooting went down.

We know EXACTLY what happened with Powell. No doubt Powell was either high or mentally messed up. But these monsters just shot him dead in clod blood for no reason. He was no mortal threat to them. If they had tasers they should have used them. If they didnn't then shoot the guy once in the leg so they could get him under control with no risk to themselves.

But instead they shot him dead with 10 rounds in 5 seconds. He was down and they kept shooting him until he was dead.

Why is nobody talking about this? This was cold-blooded murder in plain daylight by a couple of cops who didn't seem to think anything of it.

9. Cause he was holding a knife. It was reported he had two. He was attacking them. For sure there

should be some other protocol for the mentally disturbed. Don't know what that would be. Unfortunately if you run at the police with a weapon and get to within two seconds of them, you are going to get shot. I don't know why the police have to unload so many shots. That seems to be the norm...to empty your weapon if you are the police. But I understand that tasers are not that directionally accurate. So they are not an option when you are being attacked. It is so sad. There was a small demonstration in Ottawa today in solidarity with Ferguson and a woman there said the police and the people have to get together and mix with each other so that they get each other. I thought that was a nice sentiment.

12. Yes, it is becoming th enorm. My point exactly. Why isn't anybody talking about this.

The guy was not that close to the cops. They had plenty of time for each of them to shoot him once in the leg.

If he had a gun, maybe it would be a different argument, but you don't need to shoot a guy 10 times when he is carrying a steak knife.

It seems we are hearing more and more cases where cops are riddling people with 10, 50, 120 bullets.

Why do you think they do that? For their own safety? No freaking way. It is to make sure the victim dies and can't testify against them. Plain and simple. This is the new police state.

10. And after he was dead...

... they hand-cuffed him. And it looked to me like they turned him over to do so. Could touching him (besides merely checking for a pulse) be construed as obstructing justice?
