UPDATE
Market Basket board to meet tonight
(snip)
The Market Basket board of directors is scheduled to meet Sunday night as rival factions of the Demoulas family try to finalize a deal to give control of the company to ousted president Arthur T. Demoulas.
The parties are still negotiating multiple terms of Demoulass $1.5 billion offer to buy the 50.5 percent of the company owned by Arthur S. Demoulas and other family members. Prospects for a deal remain uncertain, though both sides have expressed optimism in recent days.

(7,473 posts)End this thing already. Your customers are important to your bottom line. This has gone along long enough.
I have lost my patience with this whole selfish MB family.
I have been a faithful customer for years. They are about to lose me permanently.
The points have been made on all sides. Some will win, some will lose.
Best to compromise or the customer will find other options.
A great DU member gave me a good reference for local fruits and veggies, I can get meat at a good price not far away. There is always (Yikes) WalMart for paper goods and sundries.
If we get used to a reasonable alternative, there will be very little incentive to go back.
Sorry for all those concerned but many of us have also felt this strike in a very personal way.

(3,724 posts)I sure don't. I'm busy, convenience is important to me, and I like being able to get most everything I need in one stop. Except booze, because I live in PA and we're not mature enough to handle buying wine and booze in a supermarket.

(7,473 posts)I live on SS. Every dollar I spend is monitored. MB offers me (now) the best prices but I'm getting very frustrated with them.
Once you find local options at places that are small and family run, the big chains lose their glow.
I will go back, without question. In the meantime, this is hurting a lot of people. BTW, no booze at
MB. Not at Trader Joe's either, this state also does not think we can handle things like wine.

(7,473 posts)Just cleaned my refrigerator. It is so empty, I could finally get at everything without effort.
Anyway, enough of the jokes, any word yet? I need to shop and the thought of another trip to Stop & Shop makes me ill.
