Use this database to see where the military equipment is going by state and county and the type of items being received, The listed value of the items is what it would cost to buy them if they had not been donated.
Massachusetts counties got two of these:

(111,437 posts)and it only gives the statewide purchases, but holy shit! Where the HELL are they getting all this money to squander? I know Susana la Tejana Teabagger is doing it all, before she got in it was mostly thermal vision and night vision goggles, things that were completely appropriate.
This is an incredibly poor state. Seeing five pages of ever escalating military purchases is damning beyond belief.
No tanks, mortars, or rocket launchers. I suppose Susana will have to play catch up now.

(3,539 posts)we are in no way ready for WW3, an invasion from mars or even a good sized nomadic hoard.
They did secure enough automatic rifles that I bet I know what every policeman and county official is getting for christmas.

(11,155 posts)some common sense. Most of it looks useful and not over the top. The Explosive Ordinance tool kit could be useful if someone brings another rocket to Hancock airbase for disposal - http://www.cnycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=634469 Mine resistant vehicle could be over the top.

(5,865 posts)the gear some of these middle of nowhere places have stocked up on. All kind of high tech gear and vehicles and weapons. This is mind numbing. Are they planning gulags across the country and this is the advance team??? Sort of feels like it.

(4,748 posts)If this shit is so good, why doesn't the military keep and maintain it? Rural counties here in Oregon do not need armored trucks and shitloads of firearms. Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.
