Man Blames Boredom For Attack On Neighbor

COLLINSVILLE, Oklahoma - Collinsville Police arrested a man for the assault of a neighbor on Main Street Saturday afternoon after several people called 911. Thomas Kevin Shepherd was booked on a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon after a former felony conviction.

Police say Shepherd, 50, told them he was bored watching TV so he went out into the street and used a mirror to reflect sunlight into his neighbor's home in the 600 block of East Main Street. The neighbor came outside asking him to stop, and the two men started yelling at each other, the arrest report states.

He was clearly a threat. He clearly made threats to kill another person before they got there. And he clearly has no regard for other lives.

The police didn't shoot him because they know him I had to call a couple of weeks ago because I just moved next door to the psycho. Since I moved in he kept coming over and ringing my doorbell wanting cigarettes, money, food, rides...He came over once at 6:22 am demanding I give him food when I said do you have any idea what time it is he started yelling at me because I was going to let him starve. This guy is truly certifiable. He had threatened to shoot me and my dog for sitting in my backyard. I called t he police and when they arrived they knew him and basically just gave him a trespass warning. He continued his very erratic behavior yelling at trashcans...trees chasing cars and cussing at them for driving by. Friday night when I got home from work he was playing air guitar and twirling in his boxers I think not sure but yeah hopefully they'll keep him a while because I have had now 3 nights of peace and quiet since his Saturday evening arrest. I have video of the air guitar if you would like it...it hilarious but hopefully he will get some help I think he's mentally ill normal people don't do stuff like that really....Hmmm I'm bored so I'll go annoy my neighbors.

DH granulated from Oklahoma State many years ago.

I found out from him what a mixed marriage in Oklahoma is. It's between an OU and an OSU graduate, since they only have 2 big name football teams in the state.

We saw Neil deGrasse Tyson speak at OSU for a library fundraiser in 2009. That was a lot of fun and we got to meet him.

And once in a great while they beat OU at the day-after-Thanksgiving game, whereupon they burn stuff in the streets in Stillwater.
