Expecting Hillary To Answer ANY Question At A Book Signing Is Ignorant

Since I know what goes into a book signing for someone famous who also requires heavy security, let me tell you how it goes:

-All book store staff has been background checked weeks beforehand

-Secret service come in and examines store

-Day of book signing, the store is closed early and bomb-sniffing dogs go through then secret service comes in & takes position

-You want your book signed, best go into store day before to buy it

-Nobody gets into store without a book to be signed. If there are any books left, you can buy one but there probably aren't any

-People line up outside the store by the hundreds, some since early morning

-You get in line and wait, hand your book over to staff who then gives it to Hillary/Politician/Talent who signs it, says hello to you

-You get your book back and then promptly exit out the store. No browsing the shelves

-You then wonder if it was worth the $35 for the book, a signature and hours of your life spent in line waiting for something that took less than maybe 30 seconds.

-You are not even sure if the signed book you got back is the actual one you purchased

-Nobody has a conversation with Hillary/the talent

-Nobody dallies in the store after they get their book back… secret service is there to ensure this

Expecting Hillary to answer a question about Ferguson, the Mets, the weather or anything at all when she is doing a book signing is ridiculous. Doesn't matter if you are a "reporter&quot read- blogger who thinks they are a reporter). You are one person in a line of under a thousand. Want her to answer a question- find another venue to blog/report on.

Calm, collected, thoughtful before answering - everything you would want from someone in a position to be President.

Oops, I meant Obama -- not this hot mess of a reply.

One she could have made a statement days ago. Two she could have had her staff arrange an interview after the signing. She did neither and this is bad no matter how you spin it.

then go right ahead. But the absurdity of whinging about her not answering a question at a BOOK SIGNING is asinine.

That isn't spin.

It's reality.

didn't even have to be a same day gig. But, go ahead and pretend I said she should have stopped everything right then and there to do an interview. She handled this badly there is no but it was a book signing that lets her off the hook.

You mention all the effort she is forced to put out to get a lousy $ 35 for a single book.

Hell's bells, she gets a significant advance on the book sales, which makes it more likely that she is getting $ 1,200 a book. (it is reported she got between 7 to 14 millions of dollars as an advance. I know many writers - most of them are happy when they get $ 5,000 as their book advance. And most of them don't have a "ghost" helping them write their books either.)

I mean, it certainly is nothing like the $ 250,000 per speech that Bill Clinton gets for every speech he makes in front of a Corporate podium, but still, it is a hell of a lot less work she is putting out than the efforts that the bookstore employees are putting out.

She'll answer the question when it is broached in an interview environment, and it'll be non-committal, generic, desiring justice to be done, etc.
