Mica attacks opponent - for taking the same union money he took (FL)

It looks like John Mica is scared.

Over the weekend, the 22-year congressional incumbent went after his GOP opponent, retired Marine Col. David Smith, in a mail piece that suggested Smith was the worst thing possible in a conservative district like this one … a liberal.

It's an odd charge, seeing as how Smith was conservative enough that he spent the early part of the campaign fielding questions about whether he was a Tea Party guy. (He said he wasn't)

Still, Mica's piece warned Republican voters that Smith "isn't the Republican he wants you to think he is." It leveled several accusations. But the one that caught my eye accused Smith of taking “big labor union money.”
