The way she has handled the Michael Brown ordeal has been superb. She was at his funeral yesterday, which, lets be honest, isn't necessarily a positive for a lot of the people of Missouri. But she's put popularity aside and stepped to the forefront more than any Missouri politician - and she's potentially paying a political price for it.
But she's shown great leadership. I know she's been a moderate on a whole lot of issues, but dammit if right now I wouldn't get behind her in a run for the White House in 2016.

(12,368 posts)I played attention to her media segments and she does have a sincere pulse on the issues. I sense she is very active behind the scenes. Just a hunch.

(51,076 posts)i like a politician who can't be put in a box, so to say. Each of us has our pet peeves and no one politician can satisfy all of them. As a whole I think she is better for me than she is bad for me so that to me is a reason to give her a + rating.
Just her presence at the funeral speaks volumes about her. All good by the way

(3,208 posts)She does seem to care more for the less powerful, including women, than many politicians. This probably irritates many people in the state (that's putting it mildly!).
But, and dare I say it, I was not as angry about Nixon's response with this matter. It is a tough situation, obviously because if it wasn't it wouldn't still be a problem. I think he called out the NG to cover the cops, and would have gotten in much trouble if he didn't do that. I don't expect those in the government to be able to solve all problems like they have a magic wand.
I look at them much as I do my husband, he does some stuff that makes me hurt, but I still love him, because no one is perfect.
We need her in Missouri, maybe she can think of the presidential spot later!
