After ticking off several statistics that demonstrate black Americans are at a disadvantage both economically and socially, Kelly said theres a lot of evidence supporting the idea that whites have unique privilege in the U.S.
OReilly countered that Asian-Americans are not troubled, academically outperforming whites. It all comes down to family, culture, personal responsibility, he said. All of these things which we dont hear much about and this is what drives the poverty.
Look, its not just families and culture, Kelly said. She referenced white flight, the tendency of white residents to leave communities when a number of blacks move nearby. The black population feels forgotten, Bill she said. Thats why they feel resentful.

(52,226 posts)When she interviews some super right-wing guests, she has a look on her face like she is trying very hard not to show her disgust. I wonder what she is really like when she isn't playing a news person on TV.

(32,886 posts)I can't say what she believes for sure, but I can tell you that she can articulate both or multiple sides of any political discussion as well as anyone.

(52,226 posts)my perception of her. In the clips I've seen, she almost always has this pained look on her face. In my mind I picture a thought bubble, "I can't believe I'm doing this!"

(25,507 posts)She is smart and has figured out the big boys don't know anything about anything. Rove, Hannity and Bill-o are so use to talking to the echo chamber they are easy to trip up and be made to look stupid. She's quickly carving these guys up when given the chance to and still able to deliver Faux snooze propaganda when needed to. Even if Bill-o or Hannity force her out she's made such a name for herself she can walk into a CNN anchor right now.

(32,886 posts)Like scary smart. I've only been on her show once but unlike everyone else, she met me in the green room beforehand and sat down and talked with me for 10-15 minutes and engaged me on the subject before we went on and in doing so gave a real good accounting of both sides of the argument and I really was shocked by how smart she was.
That doesn't mean she is necessarily right about most things. Being scary smart does not prevent you from being wrong a lot. If you have a lot of preconceived notions about things, even a smart person can find themselves subconsciously giving more weight to arguments that have less merit.
Anyone underestimates her at their grave peril. I was happy that she played moderator when I was on and I had another guest to debate. I was on attacking Christie about Bridgegate, etc.

(48,958 posts)and based on his defense of his position the next day ("There is no white privilege) - he clearly didn't take anything away from the exchange.
But blowhards rarely do.
