most of the day and onto the night from the airforce base. Unusual. Something is different.

(507 posts)We had several military jets fly over today in a very short period of time. My house is along a flight path for Paine Field so jets aren't unusual but this was at least five jets in five minutes. Even my elderly landlord who has lived here for decades remarked that it wasn't normal. Syria is what popped into my head when I was watching them.

(2,126 posts)I live in Virginia Beach/Norfolk area and jets have been flying directly over my house all week. Also, there is an air show connected with our annual Neptune Festival, so that might also be why there is increased air traffic in the area.

(51,308 posts)there is not a lot of similarity between the Keys and the Middle East.
You ever been to the Keys?
Teeny wee islands. Humid air, not dry. Coral rock, not much sand.
Surely we have better places to train if we are going to continue with this whole idiotic war show.

(8,419 posts)The base is now closed but in the late 80's and 90's it was obvious that increased exercises almost always preceded an event in the Middle East. Fighter Jets were normal for the most part, but cargo planes usually meant something was getting ready to go down.
