That was John Aspinwall Roosevelt.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Jr. served in congress for six years as a Democrat, leaving office in 1955. He was a vocal Kennedy supporter in the 1960 Democratic Primary, and became good friends with JFK, often staying at the hospital. He lost power, though, when Kennedy was killed.

Elliott Roosevelt, from what I can tell, wasn't as political. Though, it appears he was very pro-Soviet Union throughout a good portion of his life. James Franklin II served in congress, too, as a Democrat (California) from 1955 to 1965. He was also the chairman of the California Democratic Party. However, you're right, he became a champion of Nixon and led the Democrats for Nixon in '72 and even supported Reagan in '80. :/

So, just one officially turned.

James Roosevelt III, is a Democratic party official, however.

Mostly just background stuff for the party. I remember his name mentioned quite a bit back in 2008 during the rules committee debating delegates for the Obama-Clinton race.

I only have watched the 2nd episode. My kid is a big fan of Eleanor, and my text to her was, "have you started watching yet? and isn't FDR's Mom whacked?"

And does anyone else thing Eleanor shares the same gene pool as Bobby Kennedy?

17. when looking at pictures from youth

all I could think of was that she looked like a child from Bobby Kennedy. Fair skin, over sized upper teeth. Never picked up the resemblance due to only seeing pictures of her days as First Lady. When I saw the pictures of her at 18 & 19 I thought she looked so damn close to Bobby Kennedy's kids.

James Roosevelt Jr., the oldest son of FDR and Eleanor is his father. I actually met James in 2008 when he presided over the Rules and Bylaws hearing for the DNC during the 2008 primary. I guess he is still Co-Chair of that Committee.
