I saw a report that there were as many as 1500 different rebel groups in Syria. Which of those do we sell arms to? Does it really matter so long as the arms dealers get their money? Obviously not.
I cannot understand how any Congress person could vote for such a deal with so many questions and so many dangerous possibilities? I cannot understand why a President would ask for such a proposal?
How do we follow these weapons? Will they eventually be used against our own troops? Probably so.
But the alternative is to give them to our local school boards and local police departments. Perhaps the military has too many weapons?

(7,947 posts)it's that you do what you need to do today, and worry about the consequences tomorrow, and then do something about that, and worry about those consequences later, etc, etc, etc.
Clearly, obviously, arming whatever group is going to come back to bit us in the ass at some point, some day, in some way. Even not arming them will bit us in the ass. It doesn't matter what we do.
