Back to school night.

Our daughter has a great (extremely qualified) teacher who says the focus is on their organization, responsibility, and time management. Parents should ask about the day at school but not assist the "short ones" with projects or homework.
WHEW HOO!! We are *OFF* from worrying about "Did you do this?!?" "What do you have due?!?"

It's okay if they miss something as long as it doesn't become a problem.

The teacher also wrote and got a grant for a "Walking classroom" program. The kids take a walk outside and listen to a lesson on an audio player they wear. I wonder of they will learn Dr. Zhivago in the winter.

Really impressive. The classroom itself (30' x 20' ?) is organized into areas including its own library - reading room section. Big emphasis on reading and using that to write essays by the end of the year.

She had a "Weird is just a side effect of being AWESOME" sign on the wall.
