Just thought this would be interesting. I'm starting with Clinton's term because the dude crashing his Cessna into the lawn was the first one I really remember.
Thanks as always to Wiki for almanac-style articles like this one, as well as the FenceJumpers blog which catalogs White House incursions.
(Also, I'm specifically not including the partycrashing Salahi couple because they received a full security sweep before entering.)
Clinton Years:
9/12/94 (eerie): Frank Corder crashes his plane into the South Lawn of the White House
10/29/94: Francisco Duran shoots at the White House with an SKS ("AK-47" rifle (this led to the closure of PA Ave between 15th St. and Connecticut Ave, though in retrospect I think that closure has improved the neighborhood)
5/24/95: Leland Modjeski, armed with a revolver, scaled the fence and was shot on the White House lawn
Shrub Years:
2/8/2001: Robert Pickett fires at the White House and is shot by the Secret Service
10/4/2005: Shawn Cox scaled the White House fence (unarmed) and was apprehended by the Secret Service
10/13/2006: Alexis Janicki, carrying a dime bag, scaled the fence and was apprehended
3/16/2007: 66-year old Catalino Diaz scaled the fence carrying a package that was later found to be harmless (after it was destroyed with a water cannon)
4/10/2006 (and two previous times): Brian Patterson scaled the fence screaming "God Bless America"
Obama Years:
6/9/2013: Joseph Reel attempted to send a driverless jeep complete with a Gadsden flag through the barricades on Pennsylvania Ave
8/7/2014: An unnamed toddler squeezed through the security fence and was quickly returned to his parents
9/11/2014: An unidentified man in a Pokemon costume scaled the fence and was apprehended.
9/19/2014: This latest guy
I don't really see much of an acceleration here.
