Pratt: Democrats Push Gun Control Because 'They're Afraid Of Getting Shot And They Ought To Be!'
Submitted by Kyle Mantyla on Monday, 9/22/2014 11:46 am
Larry Pratt, president of Gun Owners of America, recently appeared on Gordon Klingenschmitt's "Pray In Jesus Name" program where he declared that Democratic lawmakers are rightly afraid of being shot by gun owners because "thats what the Second Amendment is all about."

(11,417 posts)If I owned a gun and I do, I would never claim this guy speaks for me.
Of course my gun is a little .22 and is locked up so maybe I don't qualify as a true gunner.

(4,743 posts)They've always been around as the (even more) lunatic fringe of the NRA; it's disheartening to say the least to see them gaining more and more traction over the last few years. I realize they're flush with success but they need to realize if anything's going to cause "the backlash" it's going to be spewing shit like this.

(4,743 posts)I'm not 100% on board with either side, so I'm not welcomed by either side. Of course, I think a lot of it is the more enthusiastic, extreme, single-issue people who are involved in the discussion; I suspect the broader consensus is much more centrist but also much quieter.

(100,081 posts)First off Gordon Klingenschmitt is certifiably insane, that's a fact. Second, why is the head of "Gun Owners Of America" going on a show called "Pray In Jesus' Name"? Did I miss that part of the Bible? I certainly don't remember Jesus telling his disciples to shoot first and ask questions later.
