C-SPAN 2 is replaying a 9-16 debate on the role of war, Congress, the president, and the Constitution now (6 pm/est). It looks to be well worth watching, although the two panelists -- John Yoo and Bruce Fein -- may represent a limited scope in viewpoints.
Is anyone else watching this? Or watched it before?

(68,644 posts)I only now tuned in.
Too soon to gauge the respective points of view, but clearly AUMF and Article 1, Section 10 language is in play.

The discussion needs to continue, ideally beyond BookTV which, after all, has book sales as a part of the mission:

The debate is well moderated, definitely worth the watch so far.
Recommended.

(68,644 posts)I have the impression that the threshold for embarking on overt military actions has been lowered over the years.
I trust that both authors present sincere points of view.

(84,711 posts)I still remember the incredible Kennedy/Byrd Debates over NOT INVADING IRAQ...
I watched for awhile after ...........
After Obama was Elected I cut out of it.
Well I actually had cable and/satellite in pre-Obama years. I watched a hell of a lot of C-Span. But after Obama was elected, not so much, and especially when I moved to the Bay Area and cut both cable and satellite from my expenses due to financial crises.
Last time I tried, I found navigating C-span for live broadcasts rather confusing and cumbersome. I did manage to tune in during the SCOTUS session over Gay Marriage. That was awesome.
I'm not sure how I found the link. I think someone posted it.
