UK Labour Party leader under pressure to back air strikes in Syria

Ed Miliband under pressure to back air strikes in Syria

The Labour leader's opposition is said to be the only reason why David Cameron did not ask MPs to vote for military action against Islamic State in Syria as well as Iraq in Parliament last month

Pressure is growing on Ed Miliband, the Labour leader, to support air strikes against Islamist terrorists in Syria.

Last month, MPs voted overwhelmingly in favour of a government motion authorising military action against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (Isil), but the motion strictly limited any strikes to targets inside Iraq.

RAF jets have since flown a number of combat missions against Isil fighters in Iraq but American and French forces have already hit targets over the border in Syria.

A Cabinet minister accused the Labour leader of preventing Mr Cameron from asking MPs to authorise military strikes against jihadists in Syria, who are believed to have beheaded two British hostages, Alan Henning and David Haines.

This doesn't surprise me coming so soon after the murder of the second British hostage.

I believe this is exactly what the terrorists want and why they choreographed it this way.
