Upcoming session of the Supremes could be a set back to 1950.

One of the nation's most well-known observers of the Supreme Court says the high court will face more consequential legal questions in the next few years than it has in the last five decades.

Tom Goldstein, an attorney and blogger at the widely respected SCOTUSblog, told NBC's Chuck Todd on Friday that potential decisions on abortion, affirmative action, gay marriage and the Affordable Care Act will make the latter half of the current Supreme Court term one to remember.

lifetime have I seen a Supreme Court with such a blatantly partisan and more activist agenda as this one. It,s too bad nothing will ever be done to reign them in because Republicans don't want to, and Democrats don't have the balls to even if they did have the numbers.
I don't think this is the way it was intended to be.

under the commerce clause. It was totally crippling the ability of the Congress and the President combined to attack the Great Depression with economic measures.

After he made the "nine old men" soil their linen simultaneously, they began seeing things from the perspective of a desperate, starving nation.

We have a large segment of the electorate who are blind and/or ignorant.

NO leadership. Well, I take that back. We have FAKE leadership. They talk about what they're gonna do, etc., and don't do it. If someone comes up with a good strategy (like Dean with his 50-state strategy), they proceed to destroy him themselves or allow him to be destroyed. They watch the Republicans destroy the Constitution, political discourse, TV news, the schools, and god knows what-all else, and then turn around and blame the voters. It's ridiculous.

That means the DNC must hold a policy convention that will put up 3 ideas ( no more or less) policies and get everybody in the party to accept and work to put in place.

Lock the doors until it's done or dissolve the party.

It just shows what you should have done.

To me we need to get back to the basics. I believe we are trying as a party to be all things to everybody and end up doing nothing for anybody.

Check out the link and tell me that "everything" that the president has accomplished was "ONLY" for the rich.

http://pleasecutthecrap.com/obama-accomplishments/

And those that say both parties are the same seem to not want to answer the question "what things on this list" would have gotten passed if republicans were in charge.

I would love to have seen a single payer health care, but I understand that getting anything passed was not going to be easy and at least now we have a foundation to build on towards a singe payer system.

I would love to see the minimum wage go up, but republicans are not going let that happen as long as they control the house, and especially if they take control of the Senate. What so many people fail to understand is that you need the congress to actually work towards helping fix the problems, because the president can not pass laws by himself. Until we can understand something is better than nothing, some people are always going to not like what gets done.

This is the most conservative and activist SCOTUS in history. The five conservative justices blatantly make their rulings purely on politics and Fat Tony doesn't even bother to hide it.
