You deal with the source of the disease and you block it from entering the country. This is bad somehow?

So the source of Isis is Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Well lets start there. The source of Ebola is monkeys, forest antelope and porcupines

The headline is stupid.

I think the point the guy was trying to make, apparrently unsuccessfully, was that you can't give it quarter: it'll kill you without hesitation or remorse. this differs from other diseases. People don't really want to accept that. and I understand that...I've dealt with incurable diseases for much of my career and there has to be a different mindset. Yes I know some get over this but the amount of support required would overshelm any system if it takes off the way it did in Africa. Just a thought...

We are all going to die!....just not from ebola. Take a few sensible precautions, and we will be fine. But that message is boring and does not sell air time.

Al Qaeda would then be demoted to the Marburg Virus of Syria, the elusive and somewhat Khmer Rouge-ish Lassa virus is now the Khorasan Group of Sierra Leone, and Islamic Jihad will be playing the role of Bubonic Plague (with Stalinist overtones) in Lebanon and Syria.

They get to spread fear of both ISIS and ebola at the same time while ignoring the rampant militarization of US PDs, the ever increasing wage gap, the war on women, the disintegration of the middle class, etc etc etc.

Pretty soon if we say something like, "ebola isn't the enemy" we'll be classified as unpatriotic.

Same fucking shit, different day.

And the puppetmasters continue to pull the strings. So glad I don't--and won't--own a television. It is a net-negative influence on life. Whatever you may think TV is offering you, I could show you how it's robbing you of more.

i'm now better informed than ever and don't miss it in the slightest.

"coming up, there's something in your house that could kill you! but first, these commercials!"

"we're back! what is in nearly every hose that might kill you! but first, let's take a look at a heartwarming story about a lost dog that turned up a year later!"

"and we'll have that story about the thing in your own home that could lead to your death! what is it? well let you know after the break!"

"we're back! and we're almost out of time! could what you don't know kill you? a leading doctor tells us that drinking rubbing alcohol could kill you!"

"bob, i did not know that! i've got some rubbing alcohol in my own house!"

"me too, sue! i'll have to find new recipe for my uh, "iced tea", if you know what i mean!"

"i'm sure i have no idea what you're talking about bob, ha ha!"

"good night everybody!"

"good night!"

I get news on the intertubes. I almost never watch TV news. Once in a while i'll watch Sharpton's show, or Rachel, but not terribly often.

I don't feel like there's too much of things going on that i'm not aware of.
