This guy right here, the one with "I am Darren Wilson" taped onto the back of his Cardinals jerseyan homage to the Ferguson, Mo., police officer who shot an unarmed teenager named Mike Brown to death in Augustwas at the Cardinals game last night. He, along with many other Cardinals fans, clashed with a small group of protesters who want to see Wilson prosecuted. The guy in the Darren Wilson jersey wasn't even the worst part.

(957 posts)He was traded to the Angels in the previous off-season, where he wore #6. That said, he is from St. Louis and probably would be pissed at the misappropriation of his former uniform for such a vile purpose.

I hope the protestors will keep this up, especially if there is a series here this year.

And incidentally, St.L has had a pretty monochromatic roster the past couple of years...
Gore1FL
(21,130 posts)or approximately 1 or 2 players more monochromatic than the Royals

And we can compare MLB rosters all night, but that doesn't magically erase that bullshit from Cards fans in that video

(20,453 posts)It's not like I don't live near Pittsburgh and couldn't say the same thing about Steeler fans, cause they can be just as racist. And, while we're at it, I wonder which fan base is more racist? Moot point?
So, sorry, pintobean

(18,101 posts)It's not like St. Louis doesn't have more than its fair share of racists, I just don't see the point of anyone trying to tie them in with baseball. Baseball fans come from every race and walk of life. St. Louis is a baseball town. It unifies, rather than divides, it's just that some assholes have to try to fuck everything up.
I didn't take your comment personally. I understand, and share, your frustration of the stupidity of this shit.
