In fact, our Republican overlords pushed through legislation declaring marriage is between a man and a woman not too long ago.

Edited to add:

Oh crap! Never mind, found a USA Today article. I had missed this whole freaking thing!

I hope we can do same-sex marriages in NC soon. My sister and I are ministers who perform marriages, and we'd be tickled pink to be able to marry gay couples. Holy cow. I'm gobsmacked.
