They have significant disabilities. But that's no reason they shouldn't be living in the community.

and disabled people of all ages what they did to the mentally ill, just deinstitutionalize, close the institutions, and let them die on the street.

Trust me, the Republicans will do exactly this when they get back in power again. Their owners among the 0.1% talk openly of culling the herd. They have no problem with prematurely dead old folks and disabled younger folks. Just like their hero's name they never mention.

I just moved into senior housing. In NJ at least, I was told that they closed places where people with mental/physical disabilities used to live. In home-like conditions. And moved them into senior housing. Which I am thrilled to have some people here who are not elderly.
It is just astounding (Now that I am 67) how this society ghettoizes people according to age (as well as other criteria).

I like what he says but will have to research his work for details.

He feels it is important that the elderly are integrated which better serves everyone.
