Question for Rick Perry and Bobby Jindal: Forget Ebola, How many people will die of flu in

Texas and Louisiana this year because you rejected Medicaid expansion in your states, meaning that many people who could get flu shots won't, resulting in lower herd immunity and putting many at risk who cannot get a flu shot for medical reasons?

This is because half the population doesn't have insurance? They are giving them out for FREE in supermarkets, pharmacy chains. Big SIGNS outside, "Get your FREE Flu shot here". When I was in Publix (Supermarket in Florida), they were annoucning it on the PA system and had a table set up and stopping shoppers passing by. People just walked by, or said No thanks.

I read this as people are rejecting them for various reasons. Maybe the Ebola scare will increase the rate.
FYI, I have never had a flu shot and don't intend to get one, although I do have health insurance (Medicare). Sorry, Herd Immunity.

From the CVS Website

No-cost flu shots with most insurance. Get a 20% Off Shopping Pass with a flu shot.
Flu (Influenza)
CVS/pharmacy: High dose and adult
MinuteClinic: High dose, adult and pediatric

What does "No-cost with most insurance" mean?
Eligible patients will not pay any copayments unless otherwise required by their plan because most plans cover flu shots as a preventive service. This means you may not pay anything for your flu shot.

Never getting a flu shot is not something to brag about. It is not "herd immunity" you should be apologizing to, it is your fellow human beings. It is selfish.

Isn't it odd how those who do not suffer have no concept of how others options are not like their's? Plays right into the hands of the well to do and conservatives

No insurance necessary, just a script. I have gotten them there with insurance (they didn't ask for insurance) for free. Why use CVS and have a copay? If they can do that, why not free flu shots also?

Is never getting the flu in over 20 years bragging too? Or maybe those of us are Typhoid Marys giving it to everybody else? lol Oh, I might give it to an elderly person who will die. Wait. I AM an elderly person who IS going to die, sooner rather than later. Then like Ebola, quarantine everyone who has the flu, or refuses a flu shot.

It is a good deal for the drug stores because they get the business and for the insurance companies because it is a lot cheaper than having people get flu shots from their primary care providers.

The fact that you haven't gotten the flu in 20 years does not mean that you are immune. You might just be lucky. Some elderly people may wish to live a bit longer rather than die because some people refuse to get a flu shot. It is not your choice to make.

Survived measles, mumps, rubella, and chicken pox before any vax was invented. My ancestors even survived the 1918 Flu Pandemic! How "lucky" is that? Watch out it might be YOU next, or you might kill somebody ELSE! Fear sells. Have you ever taken a Marketing or Advertising course? You cannot see what they are doing to market and sell their product?
