Is the GOP Senate Dream imploding? RCP Senate projections: 46 Democrat, 45 Republican, 9 Tossup.

First clear lead for Democrats in the RCP map since February, 2014, in the accumulated polling.

Just two weeks ago, yes, 13 days ago to be exact, it was 44 Democrat, 47 Republican and 9 tossup.....there is something going on, folks. Maybe people have had enough of the lies and corruption and extremism and plain stupidity of the Tebola Party and their major media lackeys.

I think the GOP begging people to hide under their beds because of Ebola and ISIS is not playing so well in the land of the brave. Maybe the folks are not amused by false alarms and being played for fearful fools.

Maybe the obvious need for universal health care in the Age of Ebola has caused some to pause and others to reflect on their anti-science, anti-Obamacare stance when they realize that it is evolution, not creationism, that would cause Ebola to be airborne and universal health care that would stop the virus if that happened.

Maybe seeing as how ISIS is clearly being revealed as a local threat in the Middle East and not so much any where else in these months of fear mongering has also caused some folks to give the whole thing another look.

Not to mention the massive corruption in the Republican party that is being revealed in shocking detail every day.

Expect only stunned silence and no reporting on this major shift in the major media, they are fully invested in prodding/pushing/cajoling/protecting/deflecting/lying the GOP to victory. It is what they must do to protect the gushing mile from the cash cow of Citizens United.

I hardly ever watch nightly news, one night in late October 2010 I am watching CBS, lead story was "Senator in dog fight". The Senator in question, Barbara Boxer, "some polls had Fiorina within five". Boxer won by 10!

Point being, there isn't a major change going on, the attempted narrative is just running short and the lying media is having to correct to cover thier collective asses.

Saying the dems think the Senate is a lost cause... all depends who you read...

http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/09/politics/senate-democrats-math-control/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

like you said the tone of these articles are meant to promote enthusiasm for the GOP and pessimism for the left so they will stay home. when polling shows dems holding the senate for instance you NEVER see an article about how down the GOP is believing they aren't going to win the senate. the only articles you ever read are about how down the dems are and how disinterested their voters are.

in fairness, RCP appears to be alone in calling KY and GA as toss-ups. Everyone else has them as leans GOP, and with good reason (not that I don't hope that Nunn and Grimes don't pull it out, but the polling numbers aren't pointing in that direction). 47-46 GOP with 7 tossups is a far more reasonable read of the numbers.

points to be tossup, and that has not changed over time.

And being pessimistic is what the major media want you to be.

I am not.

They want you to believe in horse races, because that's what boosts their readership/viewership. But I take your point about RCP's definition of toss-up.
