Twelve Trump Businesses that Went Belly Up

Donald Trump catapulted himself into the spotlight with his gilded real estate ventures and vibrant personality. The latter is what has made his show "The Apprentice" such a huge success.

And over the years, he's had an opinion or two about the business world.

"In the end, you're measured not by how much you undertake but by what you finally accomplish," Trump once said.

But like any successful business person, Trump has had his share of setbacks. Here, we present to you 12 Trump businesses that went belly up or no longer exist.

A failure at business and a failure as a human being...tell me again why he's famous?

What alternative universe is that writer living in. Trump is not only stupid, he's boringly stupid.

He wouldn't know vibrant if it bit him in the ass. Maybe his hair is vibrant on a windy day but that's as close as he's ever going to get.

As for any business ability, he has none...he's just a self-promoter.

someone without the slightest hint of shame or embarrassment.

He just blithely goes on lying about his "success" no matter how dismal things turn out and we are all fascinated.

BTW, I heard that during one of his bankruptcies he had to go to the family and beg for $400 million to avoid losing everything. His father made the real money, and Donald was the one who claimed the stage and blew his share.

At one point, the banks appointed a serious money guy (I think it was the retired controller of GE, but I'm not sure) to watch the store and took away little Donnie's ability to sign checks or make deals. The Art of the Deal should have been the Art of Blowing Deals.

But, the Donald is not the only Trump spawn, just inept and fucked up one. Betcha hardly anyone knows who his sister is.

I can't imagine he can get by with filing time after time after time.

The linked article details various companies of his that have filed (or that have simply gone out of business -- I wouldn't assume that all were bankruptcies). Trump personally has managed to get out of each deal without his other assets being affected.

Actually, even referring to companies "of his" is an overstatement. An example from the linked article is Trump Tower Tampa. He had no ownership interest and no role in management. He simply licensed his name. According to the article, the buyers lost a lot of money, but I assume Trump walked away with his fee.

any investor would keep their distance from the likes of him. If they don't, their mistake.

In this day and age, and with his reputation for failure, I can't imagine his name would be worth a dime to a donut. He is a sad clown.
