Just one way in which we are all corporate prey

The "food" industry feeds us poison, sugar-laden, fat-laden, sodium-laden processed "food", and the for-profit "health care" industry makes billions treating the inevitable chronic disease and illness caused by the "food" we're being sold. Sure, people who have time can buy all non-processed, organic, raw food and farmer's market stuff and cook all their own - or even grow their own. That's obviously the best option. I suspect many people don't have time for that always. So they get prepackaged or prepared foods - or worse, fast "food".

We know that big "food" processors study what's addictive in food ie: excess sugar, salt, etc. They don't give one shit about what's healthy. They only care about their own PROFIT.

After bad health grinds us into poverty, we are treated like crap by the medical profession as doctors lecture down to us for our "lifestyle choices". And the disabilities we acquired from these "lifestyle choices" (obesity, depression, addictions, chronic diseases like diabetes if they don't totally prevent your ability to work yet) are not covered by the existing disability social safety net. Indeed, policy is to make sure everyone has "skin in the game" by punishing us for the "life style choice" of imbibing poor quality food all our lives.

Yes, the poor especially have been made a prey by Big Corporate Food. Go to any rural area, go to the ONE supermarket, and see what's on the shelves.

For the people who eat that food - the rest of their lives will be one big struggle against forces that constantly deny them any sort of dignity.

LITERALLY! The Monsanto ad money is really being poured in to a campaign to label GMO foods here now in Oregon.
