Local School Board Members, City Council and Dogcatcher

have more impact on our day-to-day lives than the President, or any Senator. It's time we started taking local and mid-term elections as seriously as we do Presidential elections.

Want to know why Columbus, OH has a Democratic Mayor elected with over 60% of the vote, but also has 2 Republicans representing it in the State Legislature? Because folks stay home and allow it to happen.

Want to know why Congressional Districts were redrawn with impunity to favor Repukes after the 2010 Cencus? Because folks stayed home and allowed it to happen.

Want to know why Ferguson, MO is overwhelmingly African American and Democratic, but has a City Council that is 80% white, and a republican Mayor? Because we allowed it to happen.

Want to fix education? You can start by voting the tea-bagging wingnuts off your Local School Board.

Want to ensure Wal-Mart and other Corporations don't rape your natural resources and get tax-breaks that bankrupt your infrastructure, transportation and social services budgets? Vote the tea-bagging asshats off of your City Council.

National elections are important, but if you really want to improve your quality of life, get out and vote the f%#k out of your off-year and local elections.
