Well my wife is back from her testing... IT only took an hour. SHE was the only testee to show up

The test was about customer service when the job she is basically testing for in primarily data entry.

My wife like to think she did good BUT the test questions where in her mind mostly subjective. I mean some where right or wrong.

But then again it was a scale Strong Disagree to Strong agree.

She is hoping to get this job. She like to think she will be asked to stay on pass the temp assignment and eventually move up.

If she was the only testee to show up, that's a grand indication she will succeed.

For future reference, on this type of employment test ... never express an extreme position unless it is something clear, e.g., "Taking company property without permission is wrong" or (for customer service position) "One should always attempt to (up-sale) a customer that called in with a technical problem."

These tests are not your opportunity to display your person moral convictions.

though without the extremes. "Too many" extreme answers indicate an "unmoldable" candidate.

That said, I'm sure she did fine.

One such assessment asks similar questions multiple times but worded slightly differently. There isn't a "pass" or "fail" score but it would flag inconsistent answers as potential problems.

I don't think that there is a copy of it online. The questions are along the lines of, how frequently have you used drugs on the job; is it ok to take something from your employer if you know you won't get caught; etc.

Yep, those tests are crazy. I remember taking one more than 30 years ago for WalMart. (Don't be a hater, the town was a wide spot in the road, and jobs were awful hard to come by.) I'd never seen one like it before, but I answered the question -- which were basically restated over and over -- the way I thought the store would like. The other people taking the test were so worried, because most of them had very little education (mostly high-school dropouts), and had no idea how to answer them.

I told quite a few outside waiting to take the test how to answer the questions. Mostly things like, would you steal, would you report someone stealing, even if they were a friend, how did you think thieves should be punished, and so on.

They're reworded so you get caught if you aren't aware of how these tests work, some can seem like gray-area issues, but it all comes down to the stealing thing.

I did get the job. Even got to meet Mr. Sam. And do the WalMart wiggle. Gag.

They are generally not pass fail, they say things like person is outgoing, or person prefers to be alone.

For a salesman, you would look for an outgoing person. A third shift janitor I wouldnt mind a shy person, so there is no right or wrong, but the personality traits might not match what they are looking for.

Most of the questions were about dealing with your coworkers even though this is a technical position, not supervisory or HR or anything.

- If you knew a coworker was smoking marijuana both on and off the job what would you do?

A - look the other way
B - Confront the coworker about it
C - Anonymously report that the company should drug test employees
D - Immediatly give the coworkers name to your supervisor

Tons of questions like that dealing with drugs, alcohol, theft, sick leave abuse, misusing company property, etc, etc.
