(58 posts)The NRA teaches gun safety and its not like she is going to get a free gun for signing up.

(15,064 posts)organization and I quit because they support right wing theocratic fascism. Lappier is a right wing dictatorial prick.
They do NOT protect our 2nd Amendment rights and that is not the reason they came into being.
Laws they have supported have caused the deaths of many innocent people.
The NRA is loved by the KKK and the John Birch Society. Screw the NRA and everything they damn stand for!

(15,064 posts)That's like saying there are two parts to the Nazi party.
The NRA needs to be put out of business.

(58 posts)is a progressive/liberal etc alternative group that supports the 2nd amendment then there is much of a choice is there? I disagree that their safety programs are "fluff". Please stop with the hyperbole, just because you disagree with their beliefs doesn't mean they are "nazi's"

(15,064 posts)say or how to say it. You have the right start your own gun organization. We have a free country.
At least we have one until theocratic fascist corporate pigs like the NRA keep lobbying to destroy our rights.
There is more than one right in the Constitution. The NRA thinks the other rights we have are subservient to the the 2nd Amendment.
As Americans we have the right 'not' to associate with organizations. Particularly the ones that have violence at their heart.
We have the right to 'associate' or 'not associate' with an organization whether there is just one or one million.
There is gun training in every State that is not associated with the NRA. You don't need the NRA's blessing for anything.
They need to be out of business. Lapierre and people like him should stop telling people what to believe or given the platform to tell people what to believe. The NRA has done absolutely nothing for gun rights.

(50,269 posts)They might have been for education in the beginning, but they're for a machine gun in every house now. I wonder how many 3 years olds have died thanks to the gun nuts in this society. Barely a day goes by you don't read about a little kid who found a gun in the house blowing himself or a sibling away.

(65,616 posts)Rick wasn't about to let a woman make a decsion in his household! That would break his lifetime streak of telling women what they can and cannot do. Besides, his children are just objects in a political game of chess. I am sure they mean something to him...maybe a $1.05 plus tax?

(10,000 posts)His daughter has Trisomy 18. It's amazing she's lived this long. I cannot fathom how difficult that aspect of his life may be. Did he sign her up with the NRA just to piss off liberals? Perhaps. However, I suspect he's throwing pennies into a wishing well; he hopes for a day he can take his daughter hunting. He's trying to show to himself and the world he believes his daughter may live. If that's the case, I wish him the best.
