Commercial aircraft wall panels are basically 'trim'.
They are not structural.
They just make the interior look 'nice'.
Having said that, I'm sure it LOOKED scarey as hell.

I'm guessing that turbulence caused some panels to separate.
Unusual, but not unheard of.

You can know it's just trim and likely removable for cargo only flights but..............
When a whole bunch of wall and ceiling come 'unstuck' all at once it IS scarey as hell.
