I'm glad they're being charged as juveniles. But I also hope that doesn't mean that the punishment won't fit the crime.

The victim and the five charged juveniles were and are friends and classmates. They regularly associate with one another and, at times, engage in distasteful and sophomoric pranks, First Assistant County Prosecutor Duane Deskins, who heads the offices Juvenile Division, said in a statement. However, this incident is clearly different. It crossed a moral and legal line, and even the five alleged perpetrators understand that and have expressed regret.
All the qualifiers for no jail time, for those who publicized the 'prank.' But if they'd 'assaulted' a police officer with 'bodily fluids,' or an adult, the consequences would be something to talk about.
'Let's hope it doesn't affect their chances at college or their careers' will be the next meme.
Maybe they'll have to do 'community service.' Oh, wait, that's 'socialism' in some circles. I give credit to social media for getting some attention. EOM.
