A shop window in Rochester and Strood ahead of November's by-election in the UK. UKIP's Mark Reckless is expected to win.

(45,251 posts)1. Not to nitpick, but I prefer "Bigotry is not welcome here."
The wording they chose can be interpreted as assuming anyone who approaches the door is going to make bigoted remarks once in the establishment.
But I do greatly admire the general sentiment and the courage (to risk losing customers or vandalism or more building code inspections or whatever).

With the red hexagon around the no within the word.

I'd love to see shop owners here in Korea do the same thing. Even with the large number of foreigners here, discrimination still occurs.

(24,692 posts)6. At first, I thought the shop sign was in Rochester NY and was aimed at our own RW'ers.
It easily could have been. Many of our tea partiers may not know what the term 'xenophobia' means but they believe in its sentiment.

From there but no longer live there. And seeing some of the posts from people I went to high school with? Yikes!
