"I Still Unload": This Man Is a "Nullo" Who Removed His Penis and Balls (mildly NSFW)

http://gawker.com/i-still-unload-this-man-is-a-nullo-who-removed-his-1645409616

In 1994, a South Florida man who goes by the name Gelding was surgically castrated. In 2011, he had his penis removed as well. He's a "nullo": A cisgender man who removes his external genitalia completely as a form of body modification, and he recently agreed to answer our questions—from "why?" to "what do balls taste like?"

Gelding is a nudist and describes himself as a submissive bear. Apart from his desire to use a pseudonym, he let it all hang out (so to speak) when I reached out to him and graciously answered every question I had.

Is nullo your preferred term to describe yourself and others like you who are castrated and have removed their penis?

Yes, the reason that we use that it is not transgender. It's simply nullification of what you've got. A friend of mine Mack in San Francisco likes to use the term "mascunull", because I remain as masculine as they come with fur and so forth. But I no longer have the parts.

Edited to add...not because of his body mod.....but because of his food choices.

I have to draw the line at voluntary cannibalism.

involving male genitalia. I find it horrifyingly fascinating from an anatomical and surgical standpoint. You truly would not believe what some men have done to themselves.

I suspect most have some pretty serious mental issues. And I think most of the procedures are done in Asia. No physician could legally do them here, I don't think.

I was also fascinated from a "train wreck" type of perspective. They seem happy with themselves, though, so who am I to judge?

When someone gets castrated, the adrenals will step up production. It won't be as high as your testicles would make it, but it doesn't have to be if you're not producing sperm.

Or maybe I just don't grow a lot of facual hair. Question: Asians males (or for discussion sake say Japanese) don't grow a lot of facial hair. Is it due to testosterone or something else?

I am not about to go OMG and crazy at a person who decides their gender is wrong.

On edit: this guy did not change gender, but the implication is he is a complete weirdo for body modification.

The back dragon tattoo is a nice touch. Very Red Dragon.

I read it and had two reactions:
"if it works for him, that's great"
"holy shit. I can't imagine doing that to myself in a gajillion years"

Is that bigotry? I'd suggest that many of us are hardwired to avoid, at all costs, that which he chose.

And the last two questions? Is bigotry against cannibalism a thing?

What's bigotry is calling him a lunatic, or a nutso for doing it. Or saying "Wtf" multiple times. The article is well written and explained everything, or so I thought. It's clear why he did it and what happened.Saying "wtf" after that implies revulsion and disgust. There are a lot better ways to express surprise, or confusion, etc., without saying what the fuck is this.

As for cannabalism...I haven't decided on that yet. I think what I've come up with is that as long as the meat is left over from some other procedure (meaning not jntended for consumption) and the person whose meat it is gives consent, I don't see any reason to dispose of the meat instead of eating it. I mean, you got lots of options after a surgery like this: put in a jar, frame it, make it into a Christmas ornament, have it stuffed, eat it...

When I was a kid my mom told me it was just boiled down hooves, I was horrified when I found out what it really was.

The stuff icked me out way before I became a veg but now it seems like they put it everything. They even started adding it to my favourite brand of shredded wheat a couple years ago. If they start putting it in wine I'm really screwed.

But the cannibalism? Fuck, no.
