I don't know why Rachel Maddow is reporting as BREAKING NEWS that Vice President Biden's son was discharged from the Navy for failing a drug test.It was a couple of months ago and the stinking media just now wants this out in the news right before the elections. His son is 42 years old he's a grown ass man it has nothing to do with the Vice President.

(3,747 posts)Everyone has a right to some privacy. Even if they are a well-known figure. Let them decide when to release the information . What if the media had news of Clinton getting pregnant and then deciding to have an abortion? No one should have their private lives scrutinized and constantly watched and spied upon. Particularly those who get death threats regularly for insane reasons from rightwing nutjobs.
Privacy is a right. It doesn't go away because you're famous.

(14,177 posts)jeepers at some point children start making their own decisions and some of them will be bad. My kids do things I don't approve of all the time and maybe I should say something and try to get them to change. But, I have never been one to try to live through or control another person. Perhaps Biden is the same. He lets his children be the way they are right or wrong and he still loves them.
Say, maybe that is what Biden should come out with. My son made a mistake maybe a lot of them, but I still love him and I support his efforts to remain drug free or not.

(3,813 posts)Hunter Biden is his own man, but how his discharge might affect the Vice President's (entirely misguided) perspectives on the War on (some) Drugs is relevant.

(12,469 posts)She even tied it into the November election. ...That said, it may become fodder for the GOP to again make useless alogations like always...especially when we have real problems to solve.
