woman's posts pic of man who groped her. 200 say they were groped by the same guy

A Seattle woman has shamed a suspected groper by uploading photos of him to her Twitter account.

Julia Marquand, 28, took a handful of photos of known sex-offender Daryl Sharma, who walked up beside her on a sidewalk near Westlake Park in the city and supposedly touched her inappropriately.

After he tried to calmly walk away from the incident, Marquand followed him and took a collection of snaps on her cellphone.

In response, he tried to apologize in what she believes was 'damage control'.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2796745/seattle-woman-shames-suspected-groper-uploading-photos-face-twitter-identified-high-risk-sex-offender.html

The Seattle Police Department acknowledged Marquand's frustration and confirmed a detective was contacted by DOC officers after they recognized the man in photos the victim circulated on Twitter.

Sharma is said to have a history of groping and is a level 3 sex offender - meaning he is most likely to re-offend.

Following Marquand's tweet, she claims 200 people have come forward with allegations the same man has made advances at them.

In 2011, he was accused of groping a woman on a bench at Seattle's University Village.

He was convicted twice in 2003 on assault charges related to rubbing himself against a woman and later grabbing another woman’s behind.

After his actions were noticed on Twitter, Sharma was taken back into custody at the King County Jail on Wednesday for violating his probation.

However, officers would not take her images as evidence. But when she uploaded the photos, the response changed the course of the investigation.

Even though she collected that evidence, the police didn't want to bother with it when it was just her that had been groped, evidence or no evidence. It was only after she uploaded the pics online and 200 other women announced that he'd groped them that the police bothered to get off their butts and do something.

71. LEVEL 3!!! Here is the definition for a level 3 ofender:
Sat Oct 18, 2014, 01:55 AM
Oct 2014

<snip>
Risk Level 3 offenders pose a potential high risk to the community and are a threat to re-offend if provided the opportunity. Most have prior sex crime convictions as well as other criminal convictions. Their lifestyles and choices place them in this classification.

Some have predatory characteristics and may seek out victims. Generally they have refused or failed to complete approved treatment programs. They usually have one or more victims. They may not know their victim(s).

The crime may show a manifest cruelty to the victim(s) and these offenders usually deny or minimize the crime. These offenders commonly have clear indications of a personality disorder. Approximately 7% of the classified registered sex and kidnapping offenders in Whatcom County are classified as Level 3 offenders.
<snip>
http://www.co.whatcom.wa.us/sheriff/sexoffenders/classifications.jsp

These are people who need to be given long sentences especially when they reoffend and they will commit these crimes again.
These are the worst of the worst and the ones who are beyond scary. They are a clear and present danger.
