Mayor of Rome registers 16 same-sex marriages

In Italy, which does not legally recognize LGBT marriages, the mayor of Rome ignored the law and filed registrations for sixteen same-sex couples anyway.

Good for the mayor.

Haven't they had one or two earlier marriages this year - not in Rome? I think they're going to have to reconsider the law pretty soon, because it looks like the people are speaking.
