(U.K.) - Internet trolls face up to two years in jail under new laws

Internet trolls could face up to two years in jail under new laws, Justice Secretary Chris Grayling has said.

He told the Mail on Sunday quadrupling the current maximum six-month term showed his determination to "take a stand against a baying cyber-mob".

The plan was announced days after TV presenter Chloe Madeley suffered online abuse, which Mr Grayling described as "crude and degrading".

She has welcomed the proposed laws but said social media should be regulated.

Freedom of speech is a dangerous thing to start regulating.
Who makes the decision on what can and cannot be said.
No we need to make the decision to listen or not. It should not be made for us.

2. The law is carefully written to capture genocidal hate speech and violence incitement against

identifiable groups...America needs to wake up and join the rest of the civilized world in so many ways, healthcare is just the tip of the backwards iceberg Amerixa has become.

Freedom of speech is already much limited at the edges, hate and genocidal speech is another part that should be eliminated, serves no purpose, cause great damage.

Do folks agree ISIS has freedom of speech in America to recruit their army?

Are folks Ok with Britian persecuting and prosecuting anyone who exercise their freedoms and goes to fight for ISIS?

Do you know America's vaunted freedom of speech and assembly makes it impossible to shut down ISIS recruiting sites or to even prosecute any American who wants to join?

You can not disagree with one and not the other.

5. "Kill all Nazis until there are no more Nazis." Would run afoul of the description you just provided

And it would be exactly the sort of law Nazis would seek to exploit to their favor.

And the pols won't refrain from perverting the law to their own ends. Once upon a time they told us the NSA was meant to sniff out foreign threats. Now they do nothing but spy on citizens.
