One thing for sure, FOX News reduces ones intelligence significantly.

It's like the modification that Frank Herbert made to the saying in the Dune series: "It's said that "power corrupts," but actually it's more true that power attracts the corruptible."

the saying, "You can fool ... some of the people all the time," definitely applies. When young I assumed that referred to innocents being cynically swayed by predators. The hard right taught me that there are actually many people who insist on being lied to all the time.

Which came first, self-made fools or their eager deceivers? Supply follows demand.

I know people who are smart except for the fact that they watch Fox News and listen to crap like Alex Jones and Sean Hannity, and that makes even otherwise smart people ignorant when it comes to politics.

Tail wags dog. If they felt marketing to "tree huggers" paid better than marketing to "teabillies", they'd be serving chai at board meetings. And O'Reilly'd be selling insurance.

Stupid people (keep your government hands off my medicare) types watch it.

And then people who aren't stupid, watch it because its what they want to hear.....to massage their own shortcomings....you know...assholes.

Eventually they let a propaganda channel to let them do all their thinking for them and they stop thinking on their own.

As someone one once said "I don't agree with everything on Fox News".....they don't need you to, just agree enough and eventually they will persuade you to their propaganda in the long term.

I don't know if FauxNews was created to make more idiots or created for the idiots who would willingly* watch it.

*It seems to be on in doctor's offices and other public areas a LOT. So, it may be also making people dumber too. Still, there are dumbass people who'd voluntarily watch that crap to begin with or Faux would have long since been a shit stain on history.
