The public now knows a little more about the White House K-9 guard dogs that helped subdue the latest White House fence jumper Wednesday night. The Secret Service tweeted out photos and Twitter-length bios of Hurricane and Jordan, both Belgian Malinois dogs.

I have the same fascination with dog noses at 38 that I did when I was just 10 (To this day I still call all dogs "noses" ...A writer in some book once called dog noses "Mother Nature's perfect invention", and I'm inclined to agree...

(81,550 posts)I read that more police departments in Europe are using Belgian Malinois than German Shepherds. This is an absolute-serious no-bullshit business dog. They do NOT mess around. I'd want a phalanx of 'em around this President - against whom there's been at least a 300% increase in threats.

They're neat! But they're all business. We used to have one a long time ago - that looked like Jordan in the photo above. Miss him still, but MAN he was a handful!
