since I'm going to hell.
In an interview with the Jefferson Herald, King discussed a preliminary document produced during Catholic bishops' recent synod that stated gays had "gifts" to offer the Christian community. That historic welcome was utimately scrapped.
....
The Iowa Republican demurred when the Jefferson Herald pressed him to say whom he included among the "condemned."
Let me say it isnt to me to pass that judgment, and those who choose a lifestyle that Ill say is not one thats annointed [sic] and favored by my faith or their faith, for that matter thats between them and God," he told the newspaper.

(15,381 posts)So instead of letting one person in at a time through the Pearly Gates, St. Peter had everyone who was expected to get in just wait outside until a tour group angel could come and bring them in. After midday, one finally arrived and divided everyone up by their denomination - Catholics over here, Baptists here, Methodists there, etc. Once that was done, the angel took one of the groups and went inside, leaving the rest outside, suffering the sneers and smirks of the lucky group as they passed and wondering what was going on. Eventually, another angel came and took the rest of them inside on their tour of Heaven.
And what an incredible tour it was where they saw all the wonders of Heaven. Eventually they came to a large building. It wasn't overly ornate, and it resembled an apartment building. The angel got the group's attention and said, "We're going to pass through this building's lobby to get to the other side because it takes too long to walk around. I need everyone to be EXTREMELY quiet! Absolute silence while we're in there. It will just take a couple of minutes." They entered the building, the new souls afraid they would be disturbing some important denizen of Heaven. The inside was just like the outside - nicely decorated but not ornate, and it looked just like an apartment building's lobby. They saw no one.
They continued and finished the tour and before being let go, the angel asked if there were any questions. One soul raised his hand and asked, "I have two. Who was the first group that went in ahead of the rest of us, and whose building was it that we had to be quiet in while we passed through."
The angel smiled and said, "The answer to your question is the same - Baptists. We take them in first and show them to some living quarters, which they seem happy to rarely leave."
"Why do you do those two things?"
"It's just a lot easier on the rest of us if they believe they're the only ones getting in."
