way of the Whigs. But, pushing seventy, I hope they do so while I'm still around.

term is too ignorant to stay my doctor!
I make a scene when I go to a doctor's office and they have Fox News on. I politely tell the receptionist to change the channel as I do not like to have to watch propaganda while I wait. I have loudly protested a few times when they refuse to change it and in a few instances I walk out. I usually tell the doctor I do not like it and to please put it on a cooking show or something neutral. I get pretty adamant since I spend a lot of time and money in doctor's offices and shouldn't have to put up with it. I ask them, "What if the situation was reversed, would you think it is fair to you?" My Dentist started airing a cooking show after we talked about it. One testing facility took out the TV's and put up large pictures of local photography, my favorite solution!

All the teevees that I went past were on fox. I raised a stink a couple years about that and they switched to cnn, not that its any better, but in the year I've been gone they had switched back to fox noise.
My doctor will soon be history as he was only trying to give me meds yesterday, was not concerned about one thing he should have been. My blood work comes back as I'm as heathy as anyone could hope to be and I am except I can't walk much due to PAD and can't breath hardly due to all kinds of things like asthma and COPD and a couple others I can't remember this morning what they're called.
Trying to give me meds we've already tried and that did not work for me before and then had the audacity to tell me that no I have not prescribed these before, I've got the pharmacy records pulled up right now. I came home and pulled up the pharmacy records myself and sure enough right there in all their glory is all the meds he tried to push off on me. I said funny I still have the nearly full bottles at home and I'll gladly bring them back to you, asshole.
I used to have nothing but praise for the VA and still do except for this one doctor.

And keep complaining. If they think you won't care, they won't either!

The bank in my neighborhood kept Pox Noise on the TV monitors all day. I complained. Nothing happened. I kept complaining. EVERY TIME I went in there I complained. I complained to the teller I was seeing at any given time. Sometimes I also complained to the manager on duty that day. I don't care! I'm a regular customer and have been for years, and they're gonna bow to MY bidding, too. I won't be silenced on this one. And I didn't mind telling them that as a retired broadcast journalist I am personally insulted by the brand of alleged "journalism" that's practiced by Pox Noise.

One fine day I went in there and saw - CNN on there! And CNBC. Pox Noise was GONE. So I went up to one of the managers at the end of the building and asked, innocently, what had happened? They said "we had complaints." And I played dumb - and thanked them, saying whoever complained, I was happy the management had listened!

I'm mighty proud of that. I feel like I did something good.

Act like you know very little about the political climate, then start asking questions.

Ask if that's what the Ebola threat is really about.

Ask if he saw the convoy of military trucks riding on the nearby highway the other day heading towards DC ... ask if any one else saw it?

Ask if he's noticed a strange flicker on his TV, like it was snapping pictures of you.

Ask what happens after Obama takes over? Should you buy supplies? Dig a storm basement? Move to Montana?

See if you can get the Doc to open up and expand on his theory about Obama.

And the strange lyrics, for that matter. Never could get a handle on the cover art. Looks like someone had been having sex with a grapefruit.

I've got two copies on vinyl, one CD4 discreet and one stereo. I'm sure the stereo one is clear worn out. Been worn out since the 1970s, lol.

and "Where did you hear a silly thing like that?" would have been asked.

And I'd have painstakingly explained the process to overturn a constitutional amendment and the chance it would have in being ratified.

He'd likely not have believed me and would never look it up, but anybody else within earshot would have.

Do people put up with this kind of bullshit.

I just don't get it.

Here in PA, the Rs have pushed this Voter ID law that has now effectively been shot down by the courts, but they have went out of their way to push this thing, and working a poll, we have lost voters because of it, and in a republican district, more Rs than Ds.

I had it out with our state rep, and R over this, and he didn't even care. People who have voted for him being pinched out, and it didn't faze him one bit.

But, this voter ID law did not even register on for people outside of Ds ...

They just know there is some evil, big spending liberal out there.

questionable electronic voting devices that have been pushed on us of late. I wonder just how big a role these devices played in Dubyah's 'win' over Kerry. I remember when I went to bed (about 11:00-11:15), the push polls showed Kerry winning. I actually went to bed expecting Kerry to have triumphed over Bush.

Imagine my surprise (AND dismay) when Bush was declared the winner the next morning. I have wondered since then if Kerry knew what was really going on when he asserted, "we cannot win this election."

In Nevada, it wouldn't explain why 4 out of 5 voters aren't showing up for EV. That goes for Republis as well. It's as though voters don't care about mid-terms, when mid-terms give them the greatest bang-for-the-buck voting power, 5x the voting power, in fact.

When you can't encourage eligible American voters to take a few minutes from their day to exercise their constitutional right to elect people and pass ballot initiatives of their own choosing and given that when they do in a mid-term, their one vote has the power of five and they still refuse to exercise that constitutional right, it's more than gerrymandering that's the root of the problem.
